Tyler Einberger reflects on his transformative experience at MKEsearch in 2018, which inspired the ethos behind MKE DMC. This new non-profit organization aims to break free from virtual constraints, to support a genuine, in-person digital marketing community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. MKE DMC, or 'The Club', is envisioned as a dynamic space for learning, connection, and shared growth, welcoming marketers of all levels to engage authentically and build tangible relationships. It’s a move to reignite the real power of community, underlining the belief that the essence of a vibrant community lies in personal presence and interaction.

My first MKEsearch event was life-changing. I was a young marketer outside my comfort zone; a face in a crowd on the third floor of an unfamiliar building in Milwaukee’s Third Ward on a Wednesday night.

MKEsearch was a non-profit search marketing community in Milwaukee that held regular events from 2017-2018, where anyone with a zest for search marketing was welcome to gather each month.

Within minutes, I was enveloped in a community buzzing with enthusiasm for search marketing. These were future friends, partners, and colleagues who would energize my career and reshape my perspective of my craft.

This is the spirit we’re now channeling into MKE DMC.

Mission

By trying to optimize that energy virtually via webinars, multitasking, and Slack channels, we’ve siloed ourselves. We've all tried to replicate real life comradery, knowledge sharing, and networking online, but the truth is that the power of people is in their presence. MKE DMC will add insight and connection without adding to your Zoom fatigue, notification blindness, and screen time.

We need to find ways to connect with each other in person, build relationships, and share our experiences. Bringing back MKEsearch and rebranding it as MKE DMC is how we plan to create a vibrant and sustainable digital marketing community—something that Milwaukee is greatly missing.

MKE DMC is rekindling a real, non-transactional community in Milwaukee—where digital marketers can learn, connect, and share in a way that feels genuine.

We want MKE DMC, or ‘The Club’ as I like to call it, to be a place where everyone from newcomers to veterans can share their viewpoint and expertise while learning from each other in an inspirational setting.

Members

The Club is specific, not exclusive. It is for inspirers, collaborators, introverts, and extroverts alike, united by our drive and passion for digital marketing. It’s a place where egos are left at the door. It’s a place for authentic conversations with real experts. It’s a place where we can gain new ideas and a deeper understanding by connecting with our peers and other professionals.

The Club is about tangible connections. The inspirational energy of in-person events is irreplaceable. That’s why we're building a relaxed and approachable atmosphere where dialogue and sharing happens. We want our members to come away from each meeting with insights, ‘ahas’, and real-life connections.

Milwaukee is home to so many brilliant digital marketers, and MKE DMC’s purpose is to connect them and allow them to grow together by stripping away the black boxes.

The Club will be driven by our members, and fueled by our community.

In pixels, but most importantly, in person,

Tyler Einberger
