Milwaukee Digital Marketing Awards by MKE DMC

These Milwaukee Digital Marketing Awards Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between MKE DMC (“MKE DMC”) and you or the entity you represent (“you”). By submitting for or participating in the awards program (“Awards”), you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility Requirements

The Milwaukee Digital Marketing Awards (“Awards”) are open to all individuals and teams based in Southeast Wisconsin who are involved in digital marketing. Teams can include multiple members, with each individual qualifying for one award per category.

The submission-based Award categories include:

  • Breakout Marketer of the Year
  • X-Factor Award
  • McDill Marketing Innovation Award
  • Local Impact Award
  • Backbone Award

The Speaker of the Year is a non-submission category and will be selected solely by MKE DMC member votes.

A submission (“Nomination”) must be made in one of the five (5) categories listed above. There is no limit to the number of Nominations that may be submitted by any person per category. A Nomination may only be submitted through the designated MKE DMC Awards application process. The person submitting the Nomination must provide a valid email address associated with their organization in the application form.

Nominations must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on November 5th, 2024.

MKE DMC is not responsible for any Nominations lost, damaged, or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware, or software failure of any kind.

2. Unacceptable Material

Nominations that contain pornographic material, propagate “hate” messages, make defamatory statements, or are otherwise extraordinarily offensive or violate any law or regulation are not eligible. MKE DMC may reject or disqualify, in its sole discretion, any Nomination that MKE DMC deems inappropriate.

The person submitting the Nomination is responsible for the legality, originality, and copyright of the Nomination.

MKE DMC will not make any content in the Nomination public without the nominee’s (whether an individual or team) permission.

3. Disqualification

Ineligible Nominations may be disqualified at any time without notification at MKE DMC’s sole discretion.

4. Acknowledgement of Submissions

All Nominations must be submitted through the official Milwaukee Digital Marketing Awards application form. Nominations will not be accepted via email or other channels unless announced otherwise via the official MKE DMC website or technical difficulties prevent the application form from receiving Nominations.

The person submitting the Nomination will receive a confirmation message and an email once a Nomination has been received.

Nominations will not be returned and will become the sole property of MKE DMC after submission through the application form.

5. Selection Criteria

Nominations will be evaluated based on the quality and relevance of the submission according to the specific criteria of each award category:

  • Breakout Marketer of the Year: Fresh ideas, creativity, strong initiative, innovative problem-solving, and forward-thinking impact.
  • X-Factor Award: Unique perspective, major project impact, exceptional results, and essential team contribution.
  • McDill Marketing Innovation Award: Experimentation, risk-taking, leadership with new technology and ideas, and solving problems in unexpected ways.
  • Local Impact Award: Use of digital marketing to support local businesses, non-profits, or community ties, demonstrating marketing as a force for good.
  • Backbone Award: Essential team support, reliability, problem-solving, and steady support without seeking recognition.

Submissions must adhere to the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) and include visual evidence, with allowances for whitelabeling or blurring sensitive information. Campaigns or work submitted should not be older than 12 months. Applicants may apply to multiple categories.

Nominations will be judged anonymously by a panel and MKE DMC members. Selection is not based on the use or knowledge of any specific tools or methodologies mentioned in the Nomination.

Final winners for each category will be notified via email by December 10th, 2024, followed by live announcements on December 18th, 2024.

MKE DMC’s decision on all matters arising from or related to the Awards and Nominations is final and legally binding.

6. Award Prizes

Each winner in the categories identified above will receive:

  1. A trophy
  2. A spotlight/write-up on the MKE DMC blog
  3. Homepage spotlight for 2025
  4. Permanent placement on the yearly awards page on the MKE DMC website
  5. Clout kit (Digital badges)
  6. Co-marketing opportunities

Prizes are non-transferable.

Winners must claim their award by January 15th, 2025, by notifying MKE DMC in writing that they will accept the award. If winners in any category choose not to claim their award, MKE DMC may award it to a different individual or team that meets the selection criteria.

Winners agree to allow MKE DMC to publicize their achievement on the MKE DMC Awards website, via marketing communication channels, and with the press. The date and timing of the spotlight blog post on MKE DMC’s blog will be determined by MKE DMC at its sole discretion.
